Rav Cahana was thinking that his master - Rav - is a holy man, thus he should probably make love silently. But Rav was not acting according to the expectations of his student. He was chatting and laughing with his wife, like a man who's full of passion and sexual desire (see Ra"shi on the page). Who was giving whom the greater lesson? The master who showed his student that holiness is light and not so heavy? or the student who showed his master that making love is Torah that should be learned by demonstration??? |
Demonstrating Love
Rav Cahana entered and lied under the bed of Rav (his teacher). He heard him talking to his wife and laughing with her before they were making love. He said: "The mouth of my master seems like a mouth of someone who had not eaten for a long time". Rav said: "Cahana! Are you here?! Get out! It is not polite!" . Rav Cahana replied: "This is a Torah too, and I need to learn". |
